Our lab currently uses a normal male PB slide to test each probe when it initially arrives. If this passes we then wait for an actual clinical case and use it to complete the testing for that particular probe. There can be substantial time between the initial QC test and the clinical case which creates some difficulties in managing and documenting the numerous probes in process. We do not run the old lot or probe from a previous shipment with the new one when running the actual clinical case. I'm curious if there's a more efficient way that will still meet CAP/FDA standards. Thanks.

New position in Asheville, NC!

Posted by:

Mission Hospitals
Fullerton Genetics Center
www.missionhospitals.org

We have an immediate full-time opening for an experienced cytogenetic technologist The Fullerton
Genetics Center Laboratory is a full service hospital-based laboratory located in scenic Asheville, NC.
